Winnie Chan, PhD
Research and Evaluation
Wing Yi (Winnie) has over 15 years of experience conducting research and evaluations that advance equity-centered policy and practice to improve educational outcomes for students of color and students experiencing poverty. Prior to joining Magpie, Winnie served as the Senior Program Area Director for the Education Program at Child Trends and the P-12 Research Director at The Education Trust. Winnie is passionate about serving the immigrant and refugee communities and supporting immigrant and refugee youth to engage in civic and leadership activities. She has previously served on the Board of Directors for Asian American Advancing Justice-Atlanta and supported the organization’s efforts to increase voter participation among immigrants and refugees in Georgia. She received her doctoral degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
